So far this winter there isn't much of this going on in the mountains I call home. The extended fall has made for some great running and climbing weather. Personally I'm blaming it all on my friend Max King who is wrapping up his training for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston in a couple weeks. When the first round of "winter" storms started to hit the northwest we were traveling to a race together and he mentioned that he just wanted winter to hold off until January. Well thanks a lot Max. Now that you are starting your taper can we all agree that it's time for winter to start.

Everyday we make decisions that shape the person we are and the person we will become. What kind of person are you? Average? Do you care? Ever since I was a child I have longed to rage against the mold that society said I should fit into. Most of the time I failed or was too lazy to really try.
It is easy to fit in, to stumble through life in a haze of expectations. That life is not one that leaves us with stories to tell.
